Major Assignments

  • Provide troubleshooting, repair, and configuration services for personal computer (PC) equipment and peripherals (monitors, printers, modems, and so forth) in all offices and laboratories of Texas Children's Hospital buildings, Houston Medical Center area

Significant Accomplishments

  • Beginning from Houston Community College internship, worked with immediate supervisor in starting a successful, new program to provide in-house PC maintenance and repair, supporting approximately 500 users throughout hospital offices
  • Acquired new knowledge of PC internal component level operations and modem, network, and peripherals connections
  • Developed new skills in electronics, PC troubleshooting and repair
  • Developed new skills in DOS commands use and batch files (.bat) development
  • Developed new skills in PC utilities programs use (such as Norton Utilities, SpinRite, Disk Manager, FasTrax, and so forth)
  • Developed new skills in WordPerfect use
